AUNTIES COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening or butter softened
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 pint sour cream

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla thoroughly. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each one. Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda together with a pinch of salt. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Spread half the batter in a 10 inch tube pan that has been greased.

STRUDEL FILLING AND TOPPING:

6 tbsp. butter softened
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together. Add nuts and mix well. Dot butter in pan evenly with 1/2 of nut mixture. Cover with remaining batter. Dot with remaining nut mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes.
