CUCUMBER PICKLE 
7 1/4 lb. cucumbers
2 c. pickling lime
14 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 heaping tsp. celery seed
1 heaping tbsp. pickling spice

Dissolve 2 cups pickling lime in 4 quarts water. Slice cucumbers and let stand overnight in lime water. Wash lime off good. Put sugar over cucumbers. Add vinegar, salt, celery seed and pickling spice. Do not stir. Let set for 12 hours. Put on stove and boil hard for 15 minutes. Pack in jars and seal while hot. Yield 9 pints. Better when served chilled.
