CHOCOLATE CHIP CUPCAKES 
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 12 cup muffin pan. Cream together shortening and sugar in large bowl. Add egg and beat with spoon. Sift flour with baking powder. Add the shortening mixture and stir. Then add milk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Add chocolate chips and stir. Pour into muffin pan filling each halfway. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Makes 12.
