MARYBELLE'S HARD SAUCE 
2 c. water
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 lemons

Mix the sugar and cornstarch with water in a small saucepan. Cut the lemons and squeeze the juice into saucepan and cook until slightly thickened over low to medium heat. This is great on bread pudding, lemon sponge cake, etc.
