CHOW MEIN 
1/4 c. butter or shortening
1 1/2 c. (3/4 lb.) diced lean pork or 1 lb. hamburger
1 c. onions, cut fine
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 c. celery, cut fine
3/4 c. hot water
1 can bean sprouts, drained

THICKENING:

1/3 c. cold water
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. La Choy sauce
1 tsp. sugar

Method of Cooking and Serving: Melt butter or shortening in hot skillet. Add meat, stir quickly without browning; add onions and fry for 5 minutes. Add celery, salt, pepper and hot water; cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add drained La Choy sprouts. Mix thoroughly and heat to boiling point. Add flavoring and thickening ingredients. Stir lightly and cook for 5 minutes. Serve piping hot with La Chow chow mein noodles. Flavor individual dishes to taste with La Choy soy sauce.
