1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 stick soft butter
1 beaten egg
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped dates

Mix and drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.
