BEEF STEW WITH DUMPLINGS 
1 lb. beef chuck, cut in 1 inch cubes
2 c. hot water
1/2 med. onion, sliced
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 sm. bay leaf, crumbled
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/2 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. pepper
Pinch allspice
1/2 tsp. sugar
3 carrots, halved
4 sm. onions
2 potatoes, quartered

Brown meat thoroughly on all sides. Add all ingredients except vegetables. Cover tightly. Cook about 2 hours until tender. Add vegetables. Cook 20 minutes. Add dumplings.

DUMPLINGS:

1/2 c. Bisquick
3 tbsp. milk
