ICING FOR WALDORF RED CAKE 
1 c. milk
3 tbsp. flour
1 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook milk and flour until thick. Let cool. Cream softened butter and sugar. Add vanilla. Add the cooked mixture and beat well until fluffy. If frosting will not fluff, put bowl in refrigerator for a few minutes until the butter cools and thickens a bit. Put icing between split layers and frost the top leaving sides of red cake exposed. The frosting makes this cake. Be sure to beat the frosting until fluffy. Keep cake refrigerated.
