Med. sized mixing bowl
Measuring cups and spoons
Fork
butter
Sugar
2 eggs
Vanilla
All purpose flour
Baking powder
Salt

Put 3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks) into bowl.

Measure 1 cup sugar and pour over butter.

With fork, squash butter and sugar together until they are blended.

Crack shells of 2 eggs and pour eggs over mixture in bowl.

Measure 1 teaspoon vanilla and pour over mixture.

With fork, blend everything in the bowl together.

Measure 2 1/2 cups flour and pour over mixture.

Measure 1 teaspoon baking powder and sprinkle over flour

Measure 1 teaspoon salt and sprinkle over flour and baking powder

Mix everything together with fork or with your hands.

Put dough in refrigerator to chill (at least 1 hour).

You can make LOTS of dough and keep in a plastic bag, and use as much as you need. Make hamantaschen; use strips of dough to make letters or numbers; make different shapes; make faces using raisins and nuts; make giant cookies....
