LILI'S TEA SCONES 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 lb. butter
1 egg
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix all dry ingredients together. Cut butter into flour and blend until like bread crumbs. Moisten with egg and add milk to make a soft but not sloppy dough. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake in hot oven (400 to 450 degrees) on floured pan until golden brown. Serve warm with butter and jam. Especially delicious with black current jam.
