BAKED SANDWICH 
6 slices bread buttered on both sides
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 tsp. mustard
1 tsp. thyme
1/2 pkg. onion soup mix
2 c. shredded cheese
4 eggs
3 c. milk

Butter 6 slices bread on both sides. Lay 3 in baking pan. Fry ground beef with celery, thyme, and onion mix. Using 2 cups of mixture, spread over the 3 slices of bread in pan. Top with the other 3 slices of buttered bread. In separate bowl beat eggs slightly. Add 3 cups milk and mustard. Mix an pour over sandwich in pan. Refrigerate over night. Next day bake 1 hour at 300 degrees. This is very filling. (1/2 sandwich, salad and dessert.) Makes a lovely luncheon plate.
