APPLE STRUDEL 
1/2 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. butter
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. water
2 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs

Stir together sugar, butter, water, eggs, and salt. Add baking powder and flour. Knead on floured board. Cut dough in half. Roll each out to a rectangle, then melt 1/4 cup butter and spread over the rectangles. Sprinkle a cup of sugar over them and about 2 teaspoons of flour. Divide the following and put on the dough: 1 c. raisins 1 c. nuts, ground or cut fine

Roll up as for jelly roll and put on buttered cookie sheet and bake in moderately hot oven, 375 degrees for 1 hour. While still hot, cut in serving pieces and remove to cold tray. May be served hot or cold; plain or with whipped cream or ice cream.
