CHESS PIE 
1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. corn meal
1 tsp. vanilla
5 eggs
1/4 c. milk

Eggs and butter should be at room temperature.

Cream butter and sugar well. Add corn meal and vanilla. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Add milk and beat well. Line 9-inch pie pan with pastry shell. Pour batter into shell and bake at 300°F until it does not jiggle, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Serves 8.
