3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. milk
3 c. flour (Red Band)
1/4 tsp. salt
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Mix sugar, butter and Crisco together well, then add milk and flour, a little at a time (do not sift flour). Add salt. Beat well, then add eggs, one at a time, then vanilla and lemon flavoring. Mix all ingredients well. Pour in greased and floured tube pan. Put in cold oven and bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees (some ovens only 1 hour 15 minutes).
