COCKTAIL MEATBALLS | |
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef 1 egg 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs 1/2 c. water 6 oz. grape jelly 1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce 2 tbsp. lemon juice In a large bowl combine ground beef, egg, bread crumbs and water until thoroughly blended. In a deep 3 quart glass bowl combine chili sauce, grape jelly and lemon juice. Shape meat mixture into balls, the size of a walnut. Place in sauce mixture. Heat covered for 12 minutes. Skim off any fat. Stir. Heat covered another 8 minutes until sauce bubbles and meatballs are cooked. Serves 10 to 12. Add a few drops of liquid smoke seasoning to the sauce while cooking, for a barbeque flavor. |
