CHOCOLATE MINT MELTAWAYS 
1 (10 oz.) pkg. or (1 1/2 c.) Nestle Toll House mint chocolate morsels,
divided
3/4 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 egg yolk
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. Nestle Toll House mint chocolate morsels (reserved from 10 oz. pkg.)
1 1/2 tbsp. vegetable shortening
2 tbsp. toasted almonds, chopped

Cookie: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt over hot (not boiling) water 1 cup Nestles Toll House mint-chocolate morsels; stir until smooth. Set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, confectioners' sugar, and egg yolk; beat until creamy. Add morsels and flour; beat until well blended. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Allow to stand for 3 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Cool completely.

Glaze: Combine over hot (not boiling) water 1/2 cup Nestle Toll House mint chocolate morsels and vegetable shortening. Stir until morsels are melted and mixture is smooth. Drizzle over each cookie with 1/2 teaspoon glaze. Sprinkle with almonds. Chill until set. Store in air-tight container in refrigerator. Makes about 4 dozen of 1 3/4 inch cookies.
