3 c. sifted flour 1/2 lb. butter 3 egg yolks, beaten 1 pkg. yeast 1/2 c. lukewarm milk 1 tbsp. sugar 1/8 tsp. vanilla Powdered sugar Blend flour and butter as for pie crust, add egg yolks and yeast dissolved in milk. Add sugar and vanilla, mix and knead on lightly floured board. Divide dough into 2 parts. Roll out 2 (12 inch) circles and cut each into 16 pie wedges. Put nut filling on each wedge and roll up. Place on cookie sheet with point underneath and let rise 20 minutes. Brush with beaten egg white and bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. NUT FILLING: 1/3 c. cream 3 tbsp. melted butter 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. sugar Cook 3 to 4 minutes, add 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 cup ground nuts. |
