BAKED APPLE DUMPLINGS 
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. milk
1 c. water
1 c. sugar
6 apples (peeled & cored)

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in butter; mix in milk to make soft dough. Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut into 6 pieces each about 6 inches square. Add 1 tablespoon sugar. Cover apple and place in a greased baking dish. Make a syrup with water and remaining sugar and pour over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
