ICE CREAM DESSERT 
1 box vanilla wafers
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
3/4 c. butter
2 c. sifted powdered sugar
3 eggs, separated
1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream

Combine crushed vanilla wafer crumbs with 1/2 cup melted butter. Press into 9 x 13 inch pan, saving 1 cup of crumb mixture for topping.

In top of double boiler, melt chocolate with 3/4 cup of butter and add powdered sugar. Beat egg yolks and add to chocolate mixture. Cool mixture and then add stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour over crumb mixture. Cut ice cream into 3/4 inch squares and put over chocolate. Smooth top of ice cream. Put remaining crumb mixture on top of ice cream. Freeze.
