HOT WATER PASTRY 
1/3 c. boiling water
2/3 c. Crisco
2 c. plain sifted flour
3/4 tsp. salt

Pour boiling water over Crisco and beat. Add flour and salt and mix with spoon. Wrap in wax paper and cool for 5-10 minutes (only) in refrigerator. Make 2 balls, roll out between 2 sheets of wax paper. Peel paper off and place in pie pan. Rub powdered sugar over top of pie (optional).

NOTE: Wax paper won't slide if you wet surface.
