BRICKLE | |
1 pkg. saltine crackers 2 sticks butter 1 c. brown sugar 1 (12 oz.) bag milk chocolate chips 1 c. chopped almonds You will also need 1 large baking sheet (lined with aluminum foil); should fit 1 sleeve of saltine crackers lined. Do not overlap (8 down and 5 across). Preheat oven to 400°F. Put butter and brown sugar in saucepan on stove. Boil, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes (time it, or else the consistency is not correct). Pour mixture over saltines and spread it out with spoon. Bake for 5 minutes (again, time it). Take out of oven and sprinkle milk chocolate chips over entire tray. Put back in oven for 2 to 3 minutes. Spread melted chocolate over all saltines. (I just pat down with a wooden spoon, because it doesn't really spread well). Sprinkle almonds all over chocolate. Pat it down lightly with your hand. Cool in refrigerator for approximately 2 hours. Break the brickle apart with your hands and enjoy. Store in refrigerator. |
