1/2 lb. hamburger Pizza dough (below) 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 2 tsp. dried oregano leaves 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. instant minced garlic 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1 med. onion, chopped (about 1/2 c.) 1/2 sm. green pepper, chopped 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese (about 8 oz.) PIZZA DOUGH: 1 pkg. active dry yeast 1 c. warm water (105-115 degrees) 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 2 1/2 c. all-purpose or whole wheat flour Cook and stir hamburger until light brown; drain. Prepare Pizza Dough. Mix tomato sauce, oregano, salt, garlic and pepper. Divide dough into halves. Pat each half into 11" circle on lightly greased cookie sheet with floured fingers. Spread sauce over circles. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, hamburger, onion, green pepper and Mozzarella cheese. Cook in 425 degree oven until cheese is light brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Yield: 2 pizzas. PIZZA DOUGH: Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in remaining ingredients; beat vigorously 20 strokes. Let rest about 5 minutes. If using self-rising flour, omit salt. |
