RUTH'S PAREVE RUGALAH | |
1 c. shortening 1/3 c. sugar 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3 egg yolks 1/2 c. orange juice Mix shortening, sugar, baking powder and flour in bowl. Add egg yolks and orange juice. Knead in bowl. (Add a bit more flour, if needed.) Divide into 4 balls and roll 1/4 inch out into a rectangle. Sprinkle cinnamon, sugar and chopped nuts or spread with jelly and nuts. Roll up and cut into 3/4 inch pieces. Bake on cookie sheet 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees. (Watch!) You may roll up 3-4 times over, cut and roll rest up, thus making two rolls or more from each ball. |
