1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour

Mix and chill. Form into small balls, roll into sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
