CABBAGE NOODLES 
1 sm. green cabbage
3 tbsp. butter
Salt & pepper to taste
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 pkg. med. or broad noodles
1 c. half & half or heavier cream
2 chopped onions (optional)
Bacon bits (optional)

Core cabbage. Chop or cut up cabbage very fine. In heavy bottomed pot, melt butter, add cabbage, salt, pepper and sugar. Cook slowly, stirring frequently, on low heat, about 1/2 hour until cabbage is cooked. Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions. Drain. Add to cooked cabbage, blend well. Add cream. Stir well. Serves approximately 6. Makes a good side dish or luncheon.

VARIATIONS: Add chopped onions to cabbage as cooking or add real fried bacon bits just before serving. Great warmed up next day in frying pan.
