OATMEAL BREAD WITH RAISINS 
2 c. boiling water
2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. salt
6 tbsp. molasses
6 tbsp. shortening
2 c. water or milk
2 yeast cakes
1 c. raisins
Flour (enough to make dough feel right)

Pour hot water over oatmeal, sugar, salt, molasses and shortening. Cool some before adding yeast. Add water or milk. Add raisins and flour. Makes 2 large or 4 small loaves. Bake at 350 degrees until done - 45 minutes for larger and 30 minutes for smaller loaves.
