DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CARAMEL
BROWNIES
 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 (16 oz.) bag caramels
1 (6 oz.) bag chocolate chips
chopped pecans

Mix together German chocolate cake mix, 3/4 cup butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Batter will be thick. Spread half of batter into ungreased 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350°F for 6 minutes.

While that is baking, melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk over medium heat stirring often. Pour caramel over baked portion of brownies. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Then drop remaining batter by teaspoonfuls over the top of brownies. Bake 18 minutes at 350°F.
