DOUGH: 1 pkg. yeast 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 3 1/2 c. sifted flour Sprinkle yeast into warm water, stir till dissolved. Stir in sugar, salt and oil, add 2 cups flour and beat till smooth. Stir in remaining flour, knead on lightly floured board till smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, brush top with butter. Cover and let rise in a warm place till doubled. Punch down, divide in half. Shape each section into a ball, place on greased baking sheet. Press out with hands into a 12 inch circle, making edges slightly thick. TOPPING: 6 oz. can tomato paste 1/2 c. water 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. oregano Dash of pepper 1/2 lb. sliced Mozzarella cheese 3/4 lb. salami, cubed 4 tbsp. vegetable or olive oil 4 tbsp. Parmesan cheese Combine tomato paste, water, salt, oregano, pepper and salami. Place Mozzarella cheese, tomato mixture and oil on each circle of dough. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Slice pepperoni, hot sausage, green pepper, mushrooms and anchovies may be added before baking, 400 degrees for 25 minutes. |
