CHOW MEIN 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. shrimp, chicken or ham
2 c. onion, sliced
2 c. celery, chopped
1 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 1/2 c. water
1 can bean sprouts, drained

Melt butter, add meat and onions, cook 5 minutes; add celery, salt, pepper and hot water, cover and cook 5 minutes. Add bean sprouts, heat. Add thickening, cook 1 minute, use noodles and rice.

THICKENING:

2 tbsp. cold water
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. Maggi seasoning
1 tbsp. brown gravy sauce
