HEAVENLY STRAWBERRY PIE 
1 qt. fresh strawberries
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
red food coloring (optional)
1 container Cool Whip
1 baked pie shell

Take 3 cups of strawberries and cut in half. Add powdered sugar. Let stand 1 hour. Drain. In a bowl, crush approximately 1 cup of strawberries. In a saucepan, mix cornstarch and sugar and cook until clear, stirring constantly. Slowly add crushed strawberries. May add red food coloring, if necessary. Put drained strawberries into cooled baked pie crust. Pour cooked strawberry sauce over strawberries. Chill. Top with Cool Whip.
