OATMEAL CARMELITAS 
1 c. flour
1 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
3/4 c. caramel ice cream topping
3 tbsp. flour

Combine in large bowl, flour, oats, brown sugar, soda, salt and butter to form crumbs. Press half of crumbs into bottom of a greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Sprinkle over baked crust all chocolate chips and nuts. Mix well and drizzle over chocolate chips and nuts, caramel topping and flour. Then sprinkle remaining crumbs over top. Bake for additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Chill bars for easy cutting. Serves 36.
