PERFECT CORN BREAD | |
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/4 c. sugar 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. yellow corn meal 2 eggs 1 c. milk 1/4 c. shortening Sift flour, sugar and baking powder and salt. Stir in corn meal. Add eggs and milk. Add shortening. Beat with electric beater or rotary beater until just smooth. Do not overbeat. Pour into a greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until tests done. |
