MARBLED FUDGE BARS | |
1 c. butter 4 squares unsweetened chocolate Sugar 4 eggs 1 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped walnuts Vanilla 1 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13 inch pan. In heavy 2-quart saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate, stirring occasionally. With wire whisk or spoon, beat in 2 cups sugar and 3 eggs until well blended. With spoon, stir in flour, salt, nuts, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until well mixed. Evenly spread batter in pan. In small bowl, with mixer at low speed, beat cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla until just mixed; increase speed to medium and beat 2 minutes. With large spoon, drop cream cheese mixture in spoonfuls on top of batter. Swirl cheese in with knife. Bake 40 to 45 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Cool. Cut into bars and refrigerate. |
