JANA'S FAVORITE APPLE CRISP 
6 c. peeled, sliced tart apples
1/4 to 1/2 c. apple juice or cider
3/4 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter (do not substitute butter)
Pinch salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 13x9 inch dish. Peel and slice apples directly into dish. Pour cider or juice over apples and toss. Mix dry ingredients together in small bowl. Cut butter into dry ingredients with a fork until well combined. Sprinkle mixture over apples.

Bake about 30 minutes or until well browned and the topping is crispy. Serve warm with whipped cream or nonfat whipped topping. Serve 4-6 depending on their appetites.
