BUTTER FINGERS 
1 c. of butter, softened
1/2 c. of sifted confectioners' sugar
2 tsp. of vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. of salt
1 c. of nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)

With an electric mixer, mix together butter, sugar and vanilla. Sift together flour and salt and stir into butter mixture. Add nuts. Chill dough for about 30 minutes. Roll pieces of dough into 2 inch long fingers. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees until set, not brown (approximately 20 to 25 minutes). While warm, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
