CHOCO-NUT LOGS | |
2 1/4 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. butter 3/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces 2 c. chopped walnuts Combine flour and salt. Beat together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla in large bowl until mixed. Blend in flour. Stir in chips. Shape dough lightly floured surface into logs (2 x 1/2 inch). Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Cool. Dip ends into chocolate coating. Roll ends in chopped nuts. Place on wax paper to set. CHOCO COATING: Melt together 1 (12 oz.) package semi-sweet chips and 1/4 cup butter in top double boiler over hot water. Stir until blended and smooth. If mixture is too thick, add more butter, 1 tablespoon at a time, until good coating consistency. |
