CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE 
Blend 1 1/4 c. sugar with 2 tbsp. cornstarch
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pt. milk
2 oz. baking chocolate (or 2 tbsp. of cocoa)

Cook until smooth thick and glossy looking. Pour over 2 egg yolks blended with 1/4 cup of sugar. Cook 1 minute more. Remove from heat. Add 2 tbsp. butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Place in baked pie shell.

Top with meringue: Beat 2 egg whites, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. When stiff, add 1/4 cup sugar and beat until it holds points then add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and spread on top of pie. Brown in oven at 325 degrees for 15 minutes.

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 tbsp. sugar

Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
