MACARONI AND BEEF GOULASH 
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce or 1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can undrained tomatoes and 1 can tomato sauce and omit water
2 c. water
2 c. macaroni noodles (6-8 oz.)
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt

In Dutch oven, brown ground beef. Drain excess fat. Add onion and green pepper. Continue frying until tender. Add rest of ingredients. Cover; reduce to simmer 20 minutes or so until macaroni is tender. Serves 4-6.

I would have given it five stars except for the sugar. I found it was way too sweet. I will make it again but with only a teaspoon of sugar.

The only thing I added was some minced garlic and used sweet red peppers instead of the green. I had to use some bow ties in with my elbows because I ran out! A little cumin and chili powder. Still very good.

I use stewed tomatoes and tomato sauce, cut chopped garlic and I add shredded cheddar cheese on top.
