BASIC WHITE SAUCE (MICROWAVE) | |
2 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk In small glass bowl heat butter on medium heat for 30-40 seconds, until melted; whisk in flour and salt. Gradually add milk until smooth. Heat 5 minutes or until sauce is thickened. Mustard sauce - add 2 tablespoons prepared mustard and a dash of Worcestershire. Horseradish sauce - add 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish. Curry sauce - add 1 or 2 teaspoons curry powder. Cheese sauce - add 1/2 to 3/4 cup shredded cheese. (If needed melt cheese, then add). |
