BLACK MAGIC CAKE 
1 3/4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. oil
1 c. strong prepared coffee
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix and sift dry ingredients, mix all wet ingredients, mix wet and dry together. Grease and flour 9 inch pans (2). Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool 15 minutes before removing from pan.

BUTTER ICING FOR BLACK MAGIC CAKE:

2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour (heaping)
1 c. butter
3/4 c. milk
Salt (a pinch)
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and flour; add and cook butter and milk. Cook to softball stage. Cool and dash of salt and vanilla.
