1 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
1 1/2 c. corn flakes
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix flour with baking powder, soda and salt. Cream butter. Gradually add sugars; cream until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add flour mixture, coconut, cereal, and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Shape into small balls and place on ungreased baking sheets. Press down with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
