BERN'S NO COOK PICKLES 
6 c. sugar
6 c. vinegar
3/4 c. salt
Pinch alum
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
Pinch dill
3 lg. onions
Cucumbers to fill 5 quart jars

Slice cucumbers, onions in sterilized jars. Mix; bring to boil other ingredients. Cool to room temperature. Pour over cucumbers and seal. Ready to eat in 3 days.
