OKRA AND TOMATO STEW 
Cook 3 or 4 slices of bacon in frying pan slightly. Saute 1 cup onions in bacon grease. Add 2 cups cut okra, stirring to keep from burning, until okra and onions have browned a little. Add salt and pepper to taste. Then add 1 can or 2 cups of tomatoes, a little water may be added if desired. Cover and cook slowly for about 20-30 minutes. Stir very often.
