STEWING TOMATOES OPEN KETTLE 
STEP #1:

Fill sink with boiling water. Put tomatoes in sink and boiling water to loose skins. Then chill tomatoes in cold water. Then peel tomatoes and cut into quarters.

STEP #2:

In a kettle boil tomatoes for 20 minutes, add 1/2 teaspoon salt to pints and 1 teaspoon salt to a quart.

Optional at this time of procedure:

Del Monte tomatoes: just add chopped celery, onions and green peppers.

STEP #3:

Make jars hot and pour boiling hot tomatoes in jars. Seal right away with lids.
