ICE BOX RAISIN FILLED COOKIES 
2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar (white)
2 c. sugar (brown)
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tbsp. milk
6 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

FILLING:

2 c. ground raisins
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook raisins, sugar, water and flour until thickened. Add nuts and vanilla. Cool.

Cream shortening and add sugars. Mix well, add eggs, milk and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients mixture and combine. Make into 4 rolls, wrap individually in wax paper or plastic wrap. Store in refrigerator or freezer until ready to bake. Slice dough thin and place on greased cookie sheet. Add 1 teaspoon filling and place another slice on top. Seal edges and bake in 375 degree oven until done. About 9 minutes.
