FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. fruit cake mix (citrus fruit)
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 or 5 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda in 1/2 c. buttermilk
3 1/2 c. flour
2 boxes dates
1 box raisins
1 lb. candy orange slices
1 can coconut
1 can nuts

Cream butter and sugar and add eggs one at a time. Add milk and flour alternating them. Stir in rest of fruit. Add and pour over the floured fruit. Bake in stove oven 250 degrees for 2 1/2 hours. When baked, leave in the pan overnight.

Mix 2 cups sugar, 1 cup orange juice and pour over the cake to soak (powdered sugar).
