CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 5 tbsp. cocoa 1 stick butter 1 c. water 1/2 c. buttermilk 1/2 c. oil 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt Sift sugar with flour; combine cocoa, butter, water, and oil; bring to a boil. Pour over flour and sugar; beat well. Add buttermilk, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, soda, and salt. Mix well; pour into 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. When cool, frost with Fudge Frosting. FROSTING: 2 c. sugar 1/4 c. white corn syrup 1/2 c. milk 2-3 MUSKETEERS® candy bars 1 stick butter 1/2 c. cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt Boil all (omit candy) until hard ball stage when dropped in cold water. Take off fire let stand 10 minutes then beat until it starts to thicken, add candy. Beat, then spread on cake. |
