OKRA PUFFS 
1/2 c. plain cornmeal
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 egg, beaten
1 lg. onion, chopped fine
1/4 tsp. dried marjoram
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. thinly sliced okra

Mix all together and drop by tablespoons into hot oil 1/4 inch deep until golden brown. Makes 24.
