2 c. corn meal
2 tbsp. flour
4 spring onions or 1 med. onion, finely chopped
1/4 c. milk
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 egg
Boiling water

Pour enough boiling water over meal, salt, flour, onion and black pepper to form a stiff mush. Add to this the milk, well beaten egg and baking powder. Drop by spoonfuls into deep hot cooking oil; fry until golden brown.
