CRANBERRY COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 (7 oz.) jar cranberry sauce or jelly
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

In bowl, cream shortening, sugar, and add eggs. In other bowl, mix flour, baking powder and baking soda. Combine the two mixtures; add sour cream. Beat well. Put half of batter into 8" tube pan, lightly greased.

Then top with half of cranberry sauce. Add rest of batter, then cranberry sauce. Sprinkle on walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool 5 minutes; drizzle topping over cake.

TOPPING: Mix 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar and small amount of warm water. Bring to right consistency to drizzle over top.
